#Cre8time Fashion Forward... #DIY Floral Hat Pin by Aimée Wheaton

Create these painterly flowers to add flair to your hats or scarves.

Hello, creatives! Aimée here today sharing a new project that was a test for me. I wanted to see if I could create a larger mold out of smaller molded objects glued together and I'm happy to say that my Amazing Casting Products didn't fail the test!!

I really had a lot of fun with this project – it is so versatile. My original thought was to drill holes on both sides and create a cuff necklace. I may still experiment with that. I've never combined molded/cast items to create a larger molded piece so I was really excited when it worked for me.

So here we go!

The first thing I did was to create a mold of this metal leaf I had cut off of a home decor piece. I mixed two equal parts of Part "A" and Part "B" of Amazing Mold Putty and formed it around the leaf. CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation.

You can see the impression here. :) It's a reusable mold now.

Next, I mixed equal parts of Amazing Casting Resin and poured into the different flowers molds I had (from previous projects) to create different flowers. CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation.

I love molding flowers apparently! When the resin cured I arranged them in a resin bouquet and hot glued them together to arrange one solid piece. I could have stopped here – but I wanted to take it one step further...

So I used Amazing Mold Putty again to create a larger mold of these united all together as one piece. You can see the glued piece, the solid piece, and the mold together here!

I filled this new mold with Amazing Casting Resin.

This results in a beautiful opaque white resin piece... a blank canvas for embellishing! I painted the solid piece with acrylic paint and added some blingy glitter. I sealed it with a varnish and then glued on a pin back so it can be used on a hat.

Here it is!!

I like how Frida Kahlo-esque it looks!

What do you think?

Let's see what you can
create by combining molds!

#Cre8time Laughing out LOUD... by Kristie Taylor #CHAshow Sneak Peek

Say WHAT??! You can see this project at CHA Creativation in Phoenix!

Hello crafty friends! My name is Kristie Taylor and I am super excited to be one of the newest designers here with Amazing Casting Products... using some of my favorite things – LOL!!

Today I want to show you a little something I made using a Prima telephone, a Relics and Artifacts craft blank and lots of Amazing Mold Putty and Amazing Casting Resin! I had so much fun making this project... maybe he will make you "laugh out loud"!

So let's talk about how I achieved this 3 dimensional little fella.
Let start with some of my faves...

OK... let's get started!

First of all, we need to make some molds, so I used a piece of molded plastic. I think it may have come from an old bathroom fixture – I'm really not sure... but it has been in my stash for a while. It's a cool shape, but I needed two. Of course you see this is going to be his eyebrows.

I mixed equal amounts of Parts "A" and "B" until the Amazing Mold Putty became one consistent color {please CLICK HERE to view mixing and preparation}. I place the "eyebrow" finding on a flat surface and pressed themold putty around it, making sure to create a good lip so when I add the Amazing Casting Resin, it won't seep out.

I wait for just a few minutes for the putty to cure, and I now
have the shape molded so I can duplicate it easily.

I repeated this process for some other pieces –
these will be used for his eyeballs :)

Next, I mixed equal parts of Amazing Casting Resin, then poured into the mixing cup and stirred slowly until one consistent color. CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation. Then I quickly poured it into the molds... this resin cures very fast – in about 10 minutes. Once cured, I could start assembly.

I needed something to hold the eyebrows on... and after much trial and error, I finally decided that Apoxie Sculpt was the answer.

And the same for the eyeballs!

He's starting to come to life!!!

Now I needed to make a tongue, so again, I used apoxie sculpt. I mixed the two parts together, used a brayed to roll it out flat, and then used my fingers to shape it. Then placed in over several bottles to allow it to dry.

I also used a Relics and Artifacts piece to be
his "uvula" before giving him a paint job!

Here is my finished piece – in all his awesomeness!
I call him "Laughing Out Loud"

He makes me smile, he really does!!

Now go mold all the things
and make something awesome!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Kristie

Travel through #Cre8time with #Resin filled Talismans... by Tracy Alden

Hello! Tracy here to share another tutorial with you! The art and history of body adornment of early humans has always been an interest and inspiration to me. Tiny bits of bone, stones and shells were the most common items to be made into talismans, symbols of status and importance by our early ancestors. Harking back to a bygone time I created a small collection of faux pebbles talismans with a modern spin with the help of Amazing Casting Products

Supplies:

Using a pasta machine (devoted to craft use only) set on the thickest setting, I conditioned some translucent polymer clay. I added small amounts of different colored polymer clay and a tiny bit of ground pepper to each ball of translucent clay. I mixed each ball of clay just enough to tint the clay and encapsulate the black pepper. The swirls of not completely blended clay and black pepper will help create the illusion of natural stone.

I carefully pressed each ball of clay into a rough pebble shape and poked a hole through the top of each faux pebble. Using a stylus, toothbrush, dotting tools and more I textured each pebble pendant front, back and edges, which creates the effect of raw unpolished stone.

* If you rather have the look of smooth river stones skip this step of adding surface texture.

Using the 4 Piece Carver Set, I carefully carved and pressed into each clay pendant a rustic art design. I was careful to cup the uncured clay pendants in my hand while carving as to not loose my surface texture I created in the previous step. I wasn't worried about making the designs super detailed or clean as these were intended to look ancient.

Using small soft paint brushes I added Alumilite Metallic Powder and Alumidust into the carved elements on the pendants. The metallic powder bonds to the uncured polymer clay without the addition of a glue or sealant. By placing the polymer clay pieces on a paper towel I would make sure the pieces in the curing process would not lose their textured surface on the side laying flat against the tile. I then put the tile with the pendants and clay into a toaster oven, per manufacturer instructions, to cure.

Once the polymer pieces were cured and cool to the touch, I used the 1500 sanding pad from the Alumilite Polishing Kit. I sanded the front, sides and back of the polymer clay pebbles pendant just enough to remove any uneven edges created in the texture process. To remove any sanding dust I gently washed the pieces in water using my fingers to remove the sanding dust and let them dry.

I mixed up a small portion of Amazing Clear Cast Resin, making sure to slowly stir to reduce air bubbles and let it sit for 5 minutes. Using a toothpick, I put a tiny drops of Yellow, Purple and Ocean Blue Alumilite Dye each into a small mixing cup and poured a portion of the pre-mixed resin in it. I used a toothpick to carefully drop tiny amounts of tinted resin into the carved designs on the pedant surfaces. The metallic powders acted as a lovely reflective element magnified by the resin. I let the resin cure completely.

* Any drips made outside of the carved elements I cleaned up with a baby wipe.

I strung the pendants onto hemp and linen jewelry cording and secured them in place with a Lark's Head knot. I added a few beads and my talisman necklaces were finished! So many symbols can be quickly carved into the polymer clay to later be filled with resin... so your creative possibilities are endless!

Happy #Cre8time New Years... AMAZING DIY Resin Art by Lyn Gill

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Hi everyone – Lyn Gill here again with some AMAZING resin inspiration. This time I'm sharing my first try with resin painting/pouring... and I love it!!! The base is just a piece of Foam Board, but it's the perfect thing to practice on.

Using just 16 drams of Amazing Clear Cast Resin (8 drams of part "A" + 8 of part "B") in the measuring cup... I followed the simple instructions that you can see HERE. After mixing I divided it into into 5 different cups and colored each one separately with a little Alumilite Dye and Alumidust in different colors; then poured them each (except for the white pearl), back into the larger mixing cup without re-stirring.

Then I poured the whole mixing cup onto a foam board at one time and allowed it to settle – tilting the board when needed to get the resin to flow around to cover the board. Then I dropped little drops of the white pearl resin (Amazing Clear Cast Resin + Pearl Alumidust) in various areas of the board and let it cure over night.

**A TIP** If you try this, please be sure to cover your work surface with waxed paper or some other protection as this can be a messy project.

The results are stunning!
I'm crazy about this technique and will definitely try more!

Gorgeous right?!! It was so much fun and I love the randomness of the finished piece... no two will ever be the same! There's much more to come in the New Year – I promise!

Do you have any crafty New Years resolutions?

Well than you so much for joining me again here at Amazing Casting Products – Hope you have an Amazing New Year!... Till Next Time! Lyn
