#Cre8time by the Sea... DIY Seaside Miniatures by Tracy Alden

Hello! Tracy here to share another tutorial with you! My continued obsession with miniatures is often a driving force behind my polymer clay projects and today's project is no exception. While the process of finding new miniatures to add to scenes or settings is fun, sometimes one can only find only a few pieces, not enough to complete a diorama. I wanted to have a wide variety of sea-side elements to use without damaging my originals, and this is were Amazing Mold Putty came to the rescue!

Supplies:
  • Amazing Mold Putty
  • Small shells, sea life charms or any small enough object to pass for a miniature
  • Small pieces of colored polymer clay
  • Stylus, small
  • Ceramic Tile
  • Craft Knife
  • Paint Brush
  • Acrylic Paint

I collected as many vintage small metal charms, shells and even a tiny pair of antique sand dollar earrings to mold. Since the metal pieces had sentimental value I didn't want to use them in my miniature scene but they could make wonderful molds to create miniatures out of polymer clay!

I mixed up some Amazing Mold Putty{CLICK HERE to view mixing/preparation}, and molded it around the pieces. I was careful not to press the mold putty too much into the tiny crevices of the shells to make it easier to remove them later.

Once the Amazing Mold Putty cured I removed the original pieces. To close up any molded loops created by the metal charms I mixed up and pressed tiny little wads of Mold Putty into the open portion of the mold as seen in the above photo.

I conditioned the polymer clay, making sure the clay was soft and warm enough to be pushed into the molds. I pushed little wads of clay into each mold and made sure the clay was filling the molds by pushing down the clay with a small stylus. I then put the molds filled with clay on a ceramic tile into a toaster oven, per manufacturer instructions, to bake. Amazing Mold Putty can easily tolerate the oven temperatures required to cure polymer clay.

Once the polymer pieces were cured and cool to the touch, I popped them out of the molds and trimmed any uneven edges on the miniatures with a craft knife. I applied acrylic paint to detailed portions of the clay, rubbing off excess paint with a paper towel.

With so many charms and small objects perfect to mold and use for miniature art, the creative possibilities are endless!

What AMAZING arts and crafts can you create?

Until next time, safe travels! ~ Tracy

Quench your #Cre8time Thirst... AMAZING Inspiration from Kristie Taylor

Hello crafty friends! Kristie here today to share some AMAZING inspiration with you – some DIY custom hardware I've fashioned out of Amazing Casting Products.

Sometimes you need a pipe... a rusty pipe that is. After some failed attempts I decided to make my own using Amazing Mold Putty and Amazing Casting Resin!

Can you believe I turned this... into THIS?!

I was amazed at how easy it is to turn a bendy straw into a rusty pipedream! All it takes is a few simple steps with Amazing Casting Products and a little rusty paint to create a beautiful art journal cover like this...

Steampunk Dream!

To see how I created the hardware I needed for this project, including all the yummy textured details... CLICK HERE to jump over to my blog The Scrapinator.

What amazing things will you create

#Cre8time Jewels... AMAZING Art Nouveau Jewelry by Lyn Gill

Hi everyone! Lyn from LynzCraftz here with a somewhat surprising project today... jewelry! I wanted to reproduce a rather complex piece of jewelry I had just created – but this time using only resin.

First off I'll share the original piece of jewelry I created...

Created all from polymer clay and inspired by the Designer René Lalique is unfortunately rather heavy – so I thought why not create one from Amazing Casting Resin?

First I started with the frame – I created the frame in polymer clay, baked it, then used Amazing Mold Putty to create a mold so I can reproduce in either polymer or resin {or even chocolate}. CLICK HERE to view how quick and easy moldmaking is using Amazing Mold Putty.

Then I prepared a batch of Amazing Casting Resin, poured it and let it cure {CLICK HERE to view mixing and preparation}.

I repeated the same steps in creating a mold for the faux glass section, and this time using Amazing Clear Cast Resin with a bit of Alumilite Dye swirled in.

Looking good so far, right?

Now I can change it up. This pendant frame uses Alumilite Metallic Powder in Silver brushed into the mold before I poured Amazing Casting Resin.

For this one I decided to paint the frame a rich yummy Bronze. I love the different finishes that can be achieved this way. The look of clear or frosted glass especially comes across so nicely. This was such a fun project... I'm looking forward to the next one!

What combos could you think of?

Well that's it for today – thank you so much for stopping by...
Till Next Time! Lyn

As usual, you can find more of my work on my blog LynzCraftz

Captured Love!!! #Cre8time Jewels by Maria Soto

Hi there! Maria here today with a little something I wanted to share... my take on a "Beauty & The Beast" love project. I put together a couple of tiny and very pretty pendants... the rose reminds me of the "Rose" from Beauty and the Beast.

I went shopping for some coloring pens at Michael's one day and took a look at their clearance section. I noticed some little glass dome charms and thought, why not, so I got the three packs they had left. Not sure what I would do with these but figured they would come in handy one day.

I had some tiny flowers and hearts I had cast previously with some leftover resin from another project I was working on, and they were the perfect size to fit in this little "cloches" {name marked on the package}.

I mixed a very small batch of Amazing Clear Cast Resin and added some of the Alumilite blue dye. I placed a very tiny amount onto the metal part of the jewelry component – using the resin as a glue to hold the tiny heart and the glass dome.

For the tiny rose, I used Mod Podge Dimensional Magic in glitter as a glue too. I also added some clear rhinestones to both pieces.

A very simple project – once the resin and the dimensional magic cured, all I had to do was add a chain and these lovely domed pieces are ready to wear.

I hoped I have inspired you to create something new using extra pieces you have leftover from old projects. Please share your creations with us by leaving a comment below or on social media.

What would you create using
these Amazing products?

Thanks for visiting! I invite you to stop over to my blog, "What is Creativity"
at http://chuy-creativity.blogspot.com to see more of my creations. ~ Maria Soto
